Water
Temperature: The
water temperature has not changed much this week with it just a
slight increase or decrease in some areas a degree or two.
Overall the water temperature is perfect!!
Weather
Temperature: The
Temperature has stayed on the warm side this week with temps.
reaching the mid to upper 90's. on the beach. The past few
days we have experienced moderate to strong breezes from the south
and southeast. These winds have made for a comfortable day
while out on the boat giving the anglers a welcome slightly
cooling breeze.
Fishing Spots and Distance: This
week the distance and spots have stayed very close to what was
reported last week. The fishing is taking place mostly South to Southeast of the
hotel and north in the Punta Pescedero area. The Tuna fishing has been out around the ten to
fifteen mile mark where the captains have been trolling thru the
schools of Porpise. The Tuna have ranged in size from five
to thirty five pounds. The Marlin and Wahoo fishing has
taken place very close to shore in the afternoons. The captains have been
reporting them about two to three miles out from in front of La
Ribera South as far as Cabo Pulmo.
Off-shore fishing.-
Off shore the
fishing continues very strong for Tuna. We have seen a few
more Dorado
mixed in as well. The Marlin bite continues to stay fairly
strong.
In-shore
fishing.-
The inshore fishing is very good. We have seen some very nice
Jack's in the deeper water in front of the hotel in the
afternoon. The captains also report strong a strong rooster
population just south of La Ribera to the light house. The
bottom fishing has picked up as well with some very nice Snapper
and Cabrilla being caught.
Successful
lures:
For the most part this week the lures have stayed fairly constant
with last weeks report.
The Lures for the Tuna
have been cedar plugs along with hoochies in the colors of white
and red or blue and pink and finally blue and white. The
jigs for the Marlin and Wahoo have been pertolero, pink and black
or black and green and white and blue.
Bait
Used: The bait this week continues to be
Mullett for the most part. We did have our first small
migration of Sardina this week. This was nice to see.
As most of you know the Sardina can help fishing like no other
bait. They are excellent for inshore bait fishing or off
shore for chuming the Tuna and Dorado and other fish. We
hope they continue to be available but we will have to wait and
see.
Highlight of
the Week: The
nice Dorado that were caught this week. Just look at the photos!! We would like to mention that the new
flight from Ontario, CA has begun to see more Click
here!!!!
See you next week!
