Water
Temperature: The
water temperature remains in the low 80's. We have not seen
much change in the water the past week or so. We have
seen some strong currents from the North this past week but
they have not seemed to effect the temperature of the water as
of yet.
Weather
Temperature: The
weather has cooled slightly this past week. We have seen
afternoon rain showers in the mountains this past week with one
afternoon rain reaching the hotel and surrounding area. This
slight cooling has been a welcome. Please do not get us
wrong their is plenty of sun and heat still around.
Fishing Spots and Distance: The
spots and distance the boats are traveling are for the most part continue
to be off the Punta Pescadero area as well as off the Punta
Arena area. In both areas the boats have been fishing between
the fifteen and twenty five mile mark.
Off-shore fishing.-
This
week the off shore fishing has been spotty. The captains report
that the Tuna have moved well off shore and that the ones that are
being found are on the smaller side in the three to ten pound
range. The Marlin continue to be located in the area between
Cabo Pulmo and the Punta Arena region. They have been reported
to be from four miles off shore out to the twenty mile
mark.
The Dorado are still on the slow side for this time of year. We
have seen a slight increase in the number of fish being seen as well
as the size of fish being caught. We have seen a fair
number of the fish caught this past week over the twenty five pound
mark.
In-shore
fishing.-
The inshore fishing has slowed slightly with the water in the
areas containing arroyo's still slightly off color after the
rains. The areas that are clear are fishing fair for
most inshore species.
Successful
lures:
The lures being used still continue to vary. Some that
have been reported as catching fish have been live bait along
with hoochies in the colors of red and white along with pink
and blue. For the Marlin the colors of purple and black
and green and black have had moderate sucess.
Bait
Used: The bait this week has been for the most
part Sardina. Mullett has also been available.
Highlight of
the Week: Please
remember that up coming in August we have lots of events you can
be part of. These include the 3rd Annual Bisbee's East Cape
Tournament Also please rember we have our special of pay
three night's and get the fourth free or pay five night's and get
the sixth and seventh free!! Call us for details. We would
