Water
Temperature: Water
temperature has dropped slightly this past week. We expect the
temperature to vary slightly over the next couple of weeks. At this time
we have not seen the slight decrease effecting the fishing. Most of the
boats have reported good action
Weather
Temperature: With the threats
of Nora and Olaf gone we have seen nothing but sun. We have seen warm days
with slight breezes in the afternoon and the occasional rain shower in the
mountains. The nights have been as one guest described
"heavenly".
Fishing Spots and Distance:
The fishing spots and distance remain fairly close. Most of the boats
report that they are fishing between the fifteen and twenty mile
mark. Victor and Vamonos report that a few of the boats have
been out as far as thirty five miles doing well catching tuna.
Off-shore fishing.-
Off
shore fishing continues to be quite good with lots of sails
and tuna. The sailfish have been quite active with many strikes being
reported by the boats. The dorado fishing is still consistent with
some very nice sized fish being caught. The tuna continue to be very
cooperative. We have also see an increase in wahoo bites with a few of the
captains reporting some shredded lures from wahoo bites they did not
expect. October is an excellent wahoo month and they are starting to
show. Do not forget that this is a great month for blue marlin as well.
In-shore
fishing.-
In shore water this past week is once again off color.
This is due to the rains we received earlier in the week in
the mountains. These rains caused the local arroyo's to
increase in their flow and with that increase comes dirty
water. We should start to see them starting to clear
later in the week if the afternoon showers subside.
Successful
lures:
According to the captains live bait has produced over the artificials.
Bait
Used: Bait conditions excellent this week with
the strong showing of mackerel, sardines, and mullet.
Highlight of
the Week: This
week the report are that there are two things you are not going to be
missing in the East Cape this coming days. TUNA AND SAILFISH. Also blue
marlin should pick up as well as dorado, stay tune or grab a flight to visit
