Water
Temperature: This
week the water temperature has continued to stay in the low
eighties and that has made for some very nice fishing. If the water
continues to remain in this range we should see fishing remain good.
Weather
Temperature: The
weather this past week has been warm. We have seen no rain
and have had clear skies with lots of sun. The afternoons have been
hot to say the least. We are seeing afternoon temperatures in the low to
mid nineties.
Fishing Spots and Distance: The
spots and distance the boats are traveling are in the areas of Cabo
Pulmo and off the area of Punta Pescadero. In both directions the fishing
has taken place anywhere from the fifteen mile mark out to around the twenty
five mile mark.
Off-shore fishing.-
The
off shore fishing this week continues to see nice action with the
catches of tuna and sailfish along with skipjack
dominating. The tuna have been off the Cabo Pulmo area
out with the porpoise at about the twenty mile mark.
The Sailfish have been in the other direction (to the
north) off the Punta Pescadero area. They also
have been off shore at about the twenty to twenty five mile
mark. The skip jack and bonita have been mixed in as
well. As far as the dorado fishing it remains to be
fair with a few fish in the larger size being caught.
In-shore
fishing.-
Most of the boats this week fished off shore. Although
we did see some limited action for pargo and yellow tail this
week. The water close to shore remains off color with
the best water being found in the area of the light house.
Successful
lures:
The choice of lures this week has been for the tuna hoochies and
sardina and for the sailfish and dorado live bait has done better than
artificial lures.
Bait
Used: The bait this week has remained sardina
and mackerel.
