PHOTO GALLERY AND FISHING AND CONDITION REPORT   WEEK: AUGUST 5TH WEEK.
The memoir picture of this year event. Here our friends Hortencia, Normita, Karla and Martina with a nice sail. This was our 10th year tournament, it was great and we all had a great time. 
Mr. John DeRosa with son and daughter on their last trip in June. Thank you for the pictures and for the nice letter. Eva and Claudia  with their daughters, who brought the luck to the boat, as they with this nice 286 lbs blue took 1st place.
Juan Carlos the driver, Don Carlos the mechanic and Ramiro from you know where, were the runner-up of this year tournament with this blue weighing 240 lbs. Our friend David Boe from Alaska showing us a great catch a nice 158 lbs halibut.
Do you recognize them? they are the nice lady from the restaurant. A nice sail for the day. Chuy and Ramon, who became team again, team up with Arnulfo and son, Edgar to capture this blue.

Water Temperature:  Even with the few days of rain this past week, our water temperature didn't drop as much, even thought there some strong currents from the South.  It's still very nice and warm.      

 

Air Temperature:  The clouds and rain this week kept the week nice and cool, some wind from the South that also help a lot. Arturo reported that it was like June weather, which is very nice.   

 

Fishing Spots and Distance: This was another tournament week, as the week was slow we organized our employee tournament which has a nice jack pot and we also have many prizes for them. Therefore, this week was mainly about fishing off-shore for the big blue. Whatever they catch they keep, that is why there number of release fish is low. Most of fleet was fishing down South from Los Frailes to La Rivera.  From 25 to 35 miles.

 

Off-shore Fishing: The main target were blues, as the biggest fish wins the tournament. There are teams of 4, and there are about two teams per day, we will have the results next week. 

 

In-shore Fishing: Even though most of our fleet was out looking for the big one, we heard the action in-shore was really good, specially for big roosters.  

 

Successful Lures:  Petrolero (brown with orange and little gray), Chivato (Yellow, orange, with black stripes), Purpura (black with purple). I may be missing some as they tried everything this past week.  

 

Bait Used: Mackerel (which is estrange as the water is very warm) and sardine.

 

Highlight of the Week:  The first teams that went out put a very high bar for those that follow, as there were two blues caught during the first day. We will see what happens during the week.
