Water Temperature:
Winter temperature in our waters, but we still hold some spots in the very low
80's, still the fishing continues to be like during the summer.
Air
Temperature: A few days of wind during the weekend, it calmed down
later on it, with winds only in the evenings, still the boats that adventure
out, came back with really smiling faces, just check the dorado numbers.
Fishing Spots and Distance: Distance
are close to mid range, with our fleet going from Cabo Pulmo to El
Cardonal (up North). When it is most likely to be a windy day, our
fleet prefers to go up North to come back with the winds for our
guests comfort. In a calm day they would go South, but
either way the fishing continues to be really good.
Off-shore Fishing:
If we are to
do some math, as I always do, you will see that these fishing numbers support
what our statistics have shown for many years, winter fishing (average per
boat catch) is not that different from our regular season, it is the winds and
the cold (at least for us the cold) which really makes the difference, but the
fishing continues on, sometimes better than others, like this week, but this
happens year round.
In-shore Fishing:
Not many guest going for in-shore species, but our
guests who are going can still find plenty of action.
Successful Lures:
Petrolero continues to overshadow the rest, still our captains prefer to
have a full menu out there.
Bait Used: Pangueros
are still getting sardines, mackerel and caballitos, you need to find the guys,
but they are around. No change
Highlight of the Week: Summer fishing continues,
now the dorado bite was hot, not too big, but that is nice
because the releasing helps a lot.
See you next
week!!!
