Water Temperature:
Not much change this past week, but Arturo mentioned that it
did go down a little with some currents from the South.
Air
Temperature:
Very nice weather this past week, weather continues to be
Spring weather most of the week it only went up to 88-89, which is great.
Fishing Spots and Distance: Boats
started to look farther for good fishing as this week the fishing
scatter all over our fishing grounds. We had boat fishing from Los
Frailes point all the way North to el Cardonal.
Off-shore Fishing:
The fish is here the problem is getting the to bite,
specially the striped marlin, Arturo said that they are around and you can see
them, but getting them to hit is different still few boats come without a hook
up, but definitely less than the past two weeks. Dorado again was hit and miss,
and a few wahoo hits as well. Tuna was found late in the week by one of the
boats from the other resort, but the first to find them is the one getting all
the action, and you could see the tuna, but not many bites for the boats that
came after. But yet again is a less than a flip of a coin if you go out for
tuna, be prepared to come with all the glory or no flag flying.
In-shore Fishing:
In shore continues to offer the best and most consistent bite
in the bay, with great fishing from right in front of the hotel all the way to
Punta Arena, with good quality and quantity.
Successful Lures:
Mean-Joe-Green and
petreloero best this past week, but Captain Jose
from the Vagabundo said that there were a lot of fly-fish out from
Los Frailes that may means that we could be seeing different color lures
strike next week, we'll see!.
Bait Used:
This past week the bait was no problem as the bait guys found
caballito and plenty of sardine. And with the option of the ballyhood you are
cover.
Highlight of the Week: A
white marlin was caught this week, not many of them come in
to the Sea of Cortés. Fishing was definitely harder
than last week, but they are here and we should see a big
improvement over the coming week.
See you next week!
