Water Temperature:
There some currents getting to the 80, but our thermometer show that most of our
water is in the high 70's.
Air
Temperature:
Weather continued to be nice early in the week, but by
the end of it, you can feel that the temperature and the humidity is definitely
raising.
Fishing Spots and Distance: Our
fleet has being going South mostly, I went out with Mr. Duchane
this past Sunday on the Vagabundo with Jose, and we easily cruised
for about 2 hours. It was a far ride and there were a lot of fish
there (In front of Las Destiladeras) about 35 miles South. Don't
be alarm not everyone is going that far and some are staying
closer and with a lot of success to. Liliana with Marcos ventured
North and caught some dorados, not many of them, we also land one
lonely dorado.
Off-shore Fishing:
There are a lot of marlin out there, but getting them to take the bait is
totally a different thing, still most of our boats going after them, they don't
come with their hands empty, some luckier than others. Tuan continues to be
during the whole week, not big but plenty, still one day they will find them the
next day they disappear, and then again to be found the next day. Dorado
there are some around and we caught a beautiful 55 lbs and some in the 40 lbs
range, but don't come down with the idea that you are going to go back with an
ice chest full of them. There were some wahoo bites, and Vicente lost an 80 lbs
almost at gaff range. There are wahoo around but they are hitting when you least
expect it and most of the time when you don't have the right leader, and we all
know what happens when this occurs.
In-shore Fishing:
Mr. Gikkas and family from Sta. Rosa, CA while fishing
with Juan Diego and after getting on the pontoon boat, moved about 100 feet from
the dock and started fishing with the fly, I was on the beach and I could see
them getting hooked and un-hooked by the minute, they stayed there for a while
before continue with their trip. Well this is really good, but it has mostly
being that way all around our beautiful bay, it would be a sin not to bring
light tackle if you are coming soon.
Successful Lures:
On Sunday when I went out we were only being
hit on a chivato color, but I was talking to the captain
Bait Used:
We have been ok on the bait, our guest really like to have
the possibility of ballyhoo, because they have a different option.
Highlight of the Week: Lots of striped marlin,
but lots of bait too. Mr. Smith and Mr. Sidney visiting us
from England released 18 marlin on 6 days of fishing, they
had a day with 5 marlin. They weren't able to break their
previous record, but they went back home happy with the 5
marlin on one day.
See you next week!
