PHOTO GALLERY AND FISHING AND CONDITION REPORT   WEEK: APRIL 2ND WEEK.
A nice Spring morning!!

This week the Fiesta de Pesca started, and this week winners 1st place went to Hilary Eskelson from Pocatello, ID she is only fourteen years old, and she caught a beautiful 24.7 lbs dorado, while fishing with Chuy and Jose on the Hakuna Mata.

2nd place winner was our long time friend Mr. Buzz Fedorka with a nice 9.5 lb pargo that he caught while fishing with captain Victor. This week prizes consisted of $250.00 dollar certificate from Penn, 1 seeker rod, 1 plano tackle box, A 20 lb spool of Mustad line and assorted lures from Berkely and 7 Strand.

Mary and Buzz Fedorka on a good day of pargo fishing, they fished with Victor on the Vamonos. The biggest pargo landed by Mr. Fedorka gave him2nd place for this week of the Fiesta de Pesca.
A good day of fishing for Sr. Togo on the Dusty B III, three strippers released. Our great friend Don Brown visited this week. We also like to congratulate him on his up-coming marriage.
Another beautiful day to fish Mr. and Mrs. Gowing  from New Hall, CA visited us while they were in a convention trip to Cabo, they drove up to fish. They did well as they released 2 marlins.

Water Temperature:  Water continues to fluctuate, it dropped early this week when some wind picked up. It had an impact in the fishing and bait, but didn't last long.

 

Air Temperature:  It is very nice right now, not too warm-not to cold, some wind, but not much.  

 

Fishing Spots and Distance: Early in the week marlin moved out from in front of La Ribera, and went up North to El Cardonal-Pescadero area, but it didn't take long for them to came back. Arturo says it has to do a lot with the bait, and they came back to 2=3 miles in front of La Ribera and in big numbers.

 

Off-shore Fishing: Marlin fishing is great to incredible, dorado not at all, tuna you need to go far to get some and it is not certain that you get them. Wahoo very little to none existent.

 

In-shore Fishing: Very little roosters this past week, but our fleet found great area by Las Tachuelas where they found pargo, and jacks in good numbers.

 

Successful Lures:  Petrolero is getting hotter as well as black and purpura.

 

Bait Used: Some trouble during the middle of the week, but the pangueros found the bait later on, and no more trouble.

 

Highlight of the Week:  The number of stripers around it is almost un-believable, Arturo reported that marlin re-united right in front of La Ribera.
