PHOTO GALLERY AND FISHING AND CONDITION REPORT   WEEK: MAY 3RD WEEK, 2005
Mark Capozzoli and Erick Banchiere fished with Chayo on the Nueva Era on the 19th and caught 9 tunas, released a striper and had time to land 2 dorados, not a bad day, don't you think so? Mr. Carl Preston from San Pedro California while baiting another nice dorado to have a double hook up, they suddenly saw this beautiful 90 lbs tuna come out of nowhere to get the bait. They ended landing both. They fished with Juan on the Mosca. 
A group of new friends from Culiacan headed by Alberto Ayala, they visited us from Culiacan, Sinaloa. They were 12 of them and they came across the Sea of Cortés in 3 boats (the biggest one a 18' Wellcraft, the smallest a 14' Boston Whaler). They had a great time and caught this big striper 160 lbs.   Mike Ahmed fished with Chuy Cota on the Hakuna and was his first striper. Congratulations!!!
Mrs. and Mr. Lawrance from Los Altos, CA caught this beautiful dorados on their first day out, while fishing with Ramon and Teodoro. Our friend David Bryce and friends visiting us from Texas caught one of the nice wahoos this week. We will see Mr. Bryce in a couple of days again. It is always our pleasure to have him and his friends.
Our new friends from South Dakota Rachel and Jason fished with Juan on the Mosca on the 16th, and caught this nice striper. Bill Lawrence, Loren Leavitt and Bob Easley visiting us from Los Altos, CA caught these 3 nice dorados on the 3 Hermanos on the 18th.
Manuel Cazares fished on the Vamonos with Victor and caught this beautiful 120 lbs striper. He was part of the great group of Mr. Papapietro.They all came from the Bay area and had a great time. Our Friends Dixie Burns and Suzan Baker from the Miami Rod and Reel Fishing Club. They were here for a few days and enjoyed some great weather and fishing. They are suppose to be back in a few weeks to conduct a field test on sail fish.

Water Temperature:  It was picture perfect last weekend, but by Monday everything change and remained cold for two days. Wednesday and Thursday everything was coming back to normal.

 

Air Temperature:  It is starting to get hot. Still it has been beautiful weather.

 

Fishing Spots and Distance: With the currents during Monday and Tuesday, our fleet had to go find the nice warm water, and they did, about 35-45 miles South.

 

Off-shore Fishing: Except for Monday and Tuesday, last weekend and the last two days of the week were perfect, they found tuna by El Farito, they caught one up 95 lbs. As you can see in the pictures there were more dorados, one up to 48 lbs. And one very nice wahoo at 75 lbs. And marlin, well the numbers talk for themselves.

 

In-shore Fishing: Amberjack, jack cravelles, triggers, pargos and some roosters as well, consistent.

 

Bait Used: This is the third week that bait has been mackerel, but it has not been consistent, and this week we had to use little jacks, mullet and whatever we got our hands on. Ohh!! they also found sardines on the last days, but weight down.

 

Highlight of the Week:  Good number of stripers, dorado in good size, tuna finally getting closer, but the 75 lbs wahoo, that's a fishing day!!!
