WEEK: July 3rd week

Our great friends Dave and Lori Dial from Oakley, CA. On their annual trip to our resort to fish with Juan Garcia on the Mosca. Here with a nice 45 lbs dorado. They normally come for a week and fish back to back with Juan. They have had their share of adventures with us, from big fish, to rainy days to fail rescues. It is always a pleasure to have them.

Water Temperature: We are up there in the mid 80's almost everywhere you go. 

 

Air Temperature: It was a nice hot Summer week with plenty of heat breaking the 100 mark for the first time this year. Some showers and a beautiful breeze helped kept the week a little nicer.

 

Fishing Spots and Distance: Our fleet continues to go South to fish, for tuna as always they are running out a little longer, but you can also find good size tuna right in front of La Rivera. Average distance was 25 - 35 miles.  

 

Off-shore Fishing: Bill fishing had good numbers this week, with several tales of blues hitting the lures and one monstrous fished fought over 10 hrs. Tuna came back not in great numbers nor quality but plenty to make a lot sashimi back at the resort. Nice size dorados reported as well.   

 

In-shore Fishing: Diversity of our fishery showed once again, specially now with the kids free in July, it is a great time to introduce them to fishing, and please when you start them, do it in-shore as they will have more action therefore they will have a better time.  .

 

Bait Used: Same as last week, and ok on supply.

 

Highlight of the Week: One line, the big blue fought for over 10 hours only to get  away. Still our highlight.
