FISHING AND CONDITION REPORT

WEEK: April 5h week

Our good-old friend Mr. Marlin Gohn organized a dental workshop trip. Mr. Gohn and Mr. Lacrosse were going to fish together, Marlin decided to switched boats on the last minute, petty for Marlin. Mr. Lacrosse was able to catch his first marlin, not bad if you consider that they released 10 more billfish for a total of 11 on this day, plus this nice dorado and they still had time to come in-shore and fish for roosters. Just another day in the water, fished in the morning and work in the evening. Chef Andrei did magic with the dorado and prepared it in a Fresh Orange Sauce and Special Mexican Barbeque Sauce.

Margaret and Tom Philip with their daughter Sara they participated in the Fiesta de Pesca on its last week. They were very close to taking the week with this beautiful 38.8 lb dorado. But our own Vicente, on the Dottie BII, a 32' Albermark, fishing with good friends and neighbors took the 1st place of the week with a 40.7 lb dorado. Still the Philips had a great time and enjoy participating on the event. This was their first of many trips to come. The dorado was caught on our resort's fleet brand new 30 Wide Penn International with 40 lbs test Big Game Line from Berkley's Trilene. Captain Felipe and Mate Reggie on the Yanet.

Water Temperature: Very slowly but our water is warming up, well is spring let's wait for real summer.

Air Temperature: There is a reason why we suggest this time of the year as the best fishing-weather time to be here. It is beautiful with temperatures around 80's with beautiful dawns and mornings, and cool days and evening. All around the best weather yet.

Fishing Spots and Distance: Good fishing everywhere. Our fleet has been everywhere, as you can go North one day and South the next and you will have a great chance to bump into very good fishing. Distance varies from 15 to 35 miles.

Off-shore Fishing:  Dorado continue to be in surroundings in different sizes, stripers and  sails has been catch and release, but tuna is not around yet.

In-shore Fishing: Roosters, cabrilla were in the battle this week. Also some triggerfish, and bonito.

Bait Used: Mackerel, sardine and ballyhoo.

Highlight of the Week: Our weekend was full of action, with one of the best catch ratios of the year, but the wind came up a little from the North and it turned the water, giving us the first slowed down in a few weeks.
