FISHING AND CONDITION REPORT

WEEK: May 2nd week

Paul & Robert Ottenstein from Denver Colorado and Bakersfield California caught this beautiful red snapper of 15 lbs in Punta Perico around 25 miles north of the resort. During this trip, they also caught three cabrillas, one roosterfish, triggerfish and  released a striped marlin and sailfish. They were fishing on the 3 Hermanos with Ramon and Teo.

Fishing two days with Carlos Agundez in Careleste, Sr. Miguel Terrazas from San Jose del Cabo caught 2 dorados , 1 striped marlin and release 1 sailfish.

    

John Ciancimino and his wife from New York caught a dorado and released 2 striped marlin, fishing in Los Frailes, around 15- 18 miles south. They were on the Yanet with Captain Felipe and Matte Reggie.

    
Casey & Ron Helget from Dixon, California  had a good day of fishing in front of La Rivera. They caught beautiful pampanos of 18 lbs and yellowtail right from the inshore on the Yanet.  
 

From the East Coast, Barry Cohen & Larry Krivitzky were fishing in a Super Panga with Alex caught 30.5 lbs dorado in Los Frailes area.

Celebrating his 86th birthday, our good friend, Togo Hazard along his family Ann & Terry, Gayle and Derek and his friends Julius Paske, Dave Copeland & his wife,  Mary & Buzz Fedorka, Susana & his son Kenneth,  Vicente Cosio & his fiancée Elizabeth Izquierdo and the Valdez Family enjoy the dinner along the Mariachi that played for a couple hours.

Water Temperature:  Our beautiful Sea of Cortez continues to warm up and with it great fishing.

 

Air Temperature: You can now feel the temperature getting to the 90's, is a nice feeling, Summer is around the corner with a Spring breeze. 

 

Fishing Spots and Distance: Is hard to decide the direction, north to Punta Perico around 25 miles or south to La Rivera, Cabo Pulmo or Los Frailes.

 

Off-shore Fishing: It has been a very good week for stripes, sails and dorado,

How about that tuna fishing? not here yet.

 

In-shore Fishing: Inshore fishing continues to be great fishing offering a good variety and excellent quality.

 

Bait Used: Sardine, ballyhoo and mackerel.

 

Highlight of the Week: Dottie BII, Captain Vicente Cosio reported in Los Frailes area that Sr. Togo Hazard caught 10 sailfish and 1 striped marlin and released them all, It was one of the best day of fishing in a long time.
