Water
Temperature: This time
of the year water temperature start to reach the highest
temperatures of the year. Right now we found waters
rounding the 86 or 88F in most of the fishing areas of
the East Cape.
Air
Temperature: Usually
during daytime we reach the 110 F but the nice breeze
from the Southeast makes the afternoons feel not as hot
as they are. Nighttime is alright, it drops down to 98or
96 some days.
Fishing Spots and Distance: We have almost
two weeks fishing south at Gordo Banks, El Farito,
Vinoramas, Los Frailes and Cabo Pulmo area. Normally
every morning our boats were running about 30 to 40
miles to reach fishing grounds.
Off-shore Fishing:
Dorado action was great this week
down the coast from Los Frailes all the way to Gordo
Banks. Average size of dorado this week was about 20 lb.
Billfish action slowed down a lot since the Bisbee. Some
tuna schools came in the area, and gave us some big cows.
In-shore Fishing: Inshore fishing became
difficult this last two weeks as there are so many
needlefish around, but even though, the people who went
out after Roosterfish they land some of them.
Bait Used: Mostly Sardines, Caballito and
Ballyhoo. We had Mackarel but not constant.
Highlight of the Week:
Dave
Copeland land a 100lb Yellowfin tuna with cap. vicente cosio aboard Dottie BII.
Steve Wiberg also landed an 80 lb yellowin Tuna with cap. Alejandro Castro
aboard Dusty BIII.
And Congratulations to Richard Meddel for making both
Dorados (49 lb) and tuna (65 lb) day 1 Jackpot on their Tournament.
See you next week!!!
Saludos from your second
home in paradise!
