The Wright family: Seņora Cristina and Seņor Willis with
their sons, Andrew and Michael. had a wonderful weekend,
leaving the cold behind them and showing up in what
probably was the best days of the year down here. They
got a Striped Marlin, a Sailfish (imagine that this time
of the year) and 32 dorado in three days fishing. |

Water
Temperature: Warming
steadly to between 70 - 74 degrees Fahrenheit. The
warming trend is helping bring schools of bait fish
close to shore - great for inshore fishing [see below].
Air Temperature:
We're having 85 degrees Fahrenheit
days and a comfortable 65F at night. The dreaded north
winds have moved on just in time for Spring. We're
seeing calm, flat seas... calmer than the pool at our
swim-up bar!
Fishing Spots and Distance: We're
getting bent rods around the Lighthouse, La Ribera and
Cabo Pulmo, about a 20-mile range from our pier. Fish
are being found between 1- and 3-miles from the beach.
Also about a mile from the Hotel Yellowtail showed up.
Off-shore Fishing: Our skippers are
spotting striped marlin and dorado in excellent numbers.
Everything looks great for the weeks ahead.
In-shore
Fishing: On Sunday 8th, we had our small Sierra
tournament, that came out really good. Winner was a 3.73
lb Sierra caught by David Cosio who came from Cabo, and
is brother of our captain Vicente. We are still catching
them all around.
Bait Used: Both Mackerel and Big
Sardines (sardineta) are readily available.
Highlight of the
Week: Yellowtails finally arrived and on very
good sizes. Most o
See you next week!!!
