FISHING AND CONDITION REPORT

WEEK: October 1st week
East Cape style sunrise!
Our very good friend and neighbor of Spa Buenavista, Mike Richardson and his Dad went out with the all time Capt. Ramon Tamayo and Theo on the Tres Hermanos and came back and amazing 90 Lb Yellowfin Tuna. Great for the 1st day of his trip.
And then to keep it going a Wahoo and 6 Dorado, again with Capt. Ramon Tamayo on the Tres Hermanos.
Gregory Hernandez, Lisa Mondin, Robert Mondin, and Kenny Gandolfo from Pacifica, CA fish for a 3 days with Capt. Carlos Agundez and Jesus on the Careleste, and what numbers they did. On the first day they brought in this 40 Lb Wahoo, plus 4 dorados.
On Day 2, Gregory Hernandez, Lisa Mondin, Robert Mondin, and Kenny Gandolfo, caught this 50 Lb Tuna plus 3 more and 2 nice dorados.
This little kid was happier then ever when he caught this 2 dorados. Sage Peterson also caught one 50 Lb tuna a day before.
Don and Alma Goggins, Samuel Davidson and Allen Westphal, on their first day fishing with Capt. Felipe Ruiz caught 12 dorado!!! Letīs see how they finish their trip.

Water Temperature: Water cool down a little this week, due to a cold front that came in, but stills around the 85 and 85 F.

Air Temperature: What an amazing week, it's amazing how everything changes when October gets here, our temperature was on the High 90īs during daytime and low 90īs at nighttime.  

Fishing Spots and Distance: La Ribera banks gave a lots of fish this week, those are located around 15 miles away from the Hotel. Some other boats kept going south to Los Frailes and El Farito about 35 miles south.

Off-shore Fishing: Lots of tuna at La Ribera Banks, not as big as weeks before, but very decent 20 Lb tunas. At the lighthouse some dorado were caught. And at Los Frailes and south from there 5 wahoo were landed.


In-shore Fishing: Some people took chances inshore and did pretty well. 2 Roosters around 30Lb and some Snappers and triggerfish.

Bait Used: Not many squids this week, but sardines and caballito keep the preference bait.

 
Highlight of the Week:

 

An amazing week for the crew of Dusty BIII, Capt. Alejandro Castro and his brother Carlos. They landed a wahoo 5 days in a row. Come and learn from the best.

 

Congratulations to Ramsey Pageler, she caught her first Roosterfish from our pier. She landed one around 30 LB, on 20Lb test with a death mackarel.
