Water Temperature:
Sea surface temperatures have been consistent
all week with an average of 80F. Though we did see it
drop to 75F at one point. The cooler water is tight to
the beach and the warmest is offshore.
Air Temperature: It's warmer everyday now
as we head into summer. it's been up to 89F but the
average daytime temp has been around 87F. At night we've
been enjoying a comfortable 70F. Perfect!!!
Fishing Spots and
Distance: Our fleet has been fishing all
over the area this week in search of the hot bite. The Dorado and Marlin have
been spread out offshore so no one is fishing at any specific spot. Many boats
have been concentrating on inshore fishing near Punta Pescadero and Punta Arena.
Off-shore Fishing: The Dorado bite cooled off in the last few days.
So most boats have turned their attention to the great numbers of Striped Marlin
that have gathered in this area. Finding the marlin is no problem. Finding one
that wants to eat a bait was the challenge. Once these fish really go the bite
we should be seeing some hot action.
In-shore Fishing:
This bite has been wide open recently. Many boats are
spending the day along the shore to hunt Roosterfish and
are being rewarded with at least 5 nice pez gallo per
day. Fishing the rocky spots has been producing good
action on cabrilla and pargo.
Bait Used: There
is no shortage of good bait available and all of it is
netted fresh and lively just moments before your fishing
trip. Sardinas, mackarel, mullet... you name it
Highlight of the Week:
Once again, the inshore roosterfish
bite has been the highlight. A live well full of bait
and a school of these fine gamefish is a recipe for wild
action. Our fly fishing guests have been wearing
themselves out casting to roosterfish. The fly anglers
are scoring nice fish using the bait and switch
technique. Very visual and exciting fishing.
See you next week!!!
Saludos from your second home in paradise!
